Who is responsible
Genia Academia is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect and why
- Account details (name, email from Google sign-in): to create your account and provide the membership. Basis: contract.
- Enquiries and class bookings (name, email, message, time zone): to reply and arrange classes and tuition. Basis: contract and legitimate interests.
- Membership and purchase records (plan, status, sessions bought): to give you the right access. Basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Practice tool questions: sent to an AI service to generate your activity and not stored by us. Basis: contract.
- Technical data (IP address, device, basic usage): to keep the site secure and working. Basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
Hosting and database providers, the AI service behind the practice tool, Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, payments, tax and invoicing, professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open and as needed for legal and tax records, then it is deleted or anonymised. Deleting your account from the Members page removes your sign-in and bookings.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or move your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level permissions so that members only ever see their own records.
Cookies
We only use essential storage needed to keep you signed in and to run checkout. We do not use advertising cookies.
